Good afternoon all,
I am very pleased to be able to report that now the weather has warmed up,
we have re-commenced work on the Nursery site. Fantastic news.
Further to the reports at the recent Parish Council meetings, the recent
planning conditions required further archaeology work at the nursery site.
This has started with preparation work this week and the archaeology to
start next week. You will see a digger working on the site for the next 2
or 3 weeks (it is there today). The local Archaeology Society has been
contacted and will be involved in a week or so time as the dig progresses.
For those who haven't yet seen the minutes of the last Parish Council
meeting, we received the following update:
*‘As reported at the last PC meeting in Dec 24 meeting, further
archaeological work was required in the planning conditions. This work is
scheduled to commence on Monday 13 January for three weeks subject to
weather conditions and what is found. The tendering process has commenced
with identification of potential contractors through the use of Contract
Finder and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires. Invitations to tender will be
issued to selected contactor on the 10 January’*
So, in short, after a very long pause, we have secured the permission and
the funding to complete the archaeology work at the site, and are in the
process of final selection of the contractor to finish the works off to the
building itself.
My thanks again to all those who have contributed to our being able to
start this final stage of what has been a very long and very complicated
process. In particular to Mike Mitchell who continues to work so tirelessly
to make this project happen.
Kind regards
Tom
